The Ocheyedan Public Library trustees met on Wednesday, July 3 2007 at 4:30 p.m.  Members present were: Nancy, Carol, Tammy, Laurie, Bernie, Connie and Librarian Diane.  Don was absent.

The minutes from the June meeting were approved after a motion made by Nancy and a second by Carol.

Nancy's Treasurer's report showed: Bank balance: $34,854.93

                                                           Trust and Agency: $19,633.74

                                                           General Fund $15,221.19

The bills were read by Nancy.  Nancy made a motion to send the bills to the city council and it was seconded by Bernie.  Approved.

The Librarian's report showed books loaned out were down from last year. Also, the number of children attending story hour was down from last year.

Unfinished Business:

The library received 4 bids for the new roof.  All bids are very different from each other.  Tammy will look over the bids with Clyde to get a contractor's point of view.  The board will hold a special meeting on Thursday, July 12 at 4:30 p.m. to go over the bids.

Diane will receive 2 paid days off as compensation for her hours of cleaning after the sump pump quit working.

The new officers are as follows:

President: Tammy

Vice-President: Laurie

Treasurer: Nancy

Secretary: Bernie

The board welcomed its new member Connie Schuster

Joanna and Emily Kruger will take over the cleaning position.

There has been no new information on the computer recycling.

The Microsoft forms have been filed.

New Business:

Diane has been having problems with Baker and Taylor's book orders.  There is another company called Ingram that Diane would like to consider.  Carol made a motion and Bernie seconded that Diane look into Ingram's contract.

Diane has left over summer reading supplies.  Around 22 kids participated this year.

There is one more PLOW class scheduled in August.  Diane has registered for the class but is unsure if she'll attend.

Diane has not heard from Star Energy about a fuel contract for this year, she will contact them and also CO-OP Energy to compare fuel contracts and prices.

The next monthly meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 8, 4:30 p.m.
