Minutes of Trustees' meeting

    The Ocheyedan Library Board of Trustees met on Wednesday, April 3, at 4:30 p.m.
    Members present were: Nancy Faber, Laura Glade, Tammy Hoekstra, Janet Kleve, Linda Kogelmann, Bernie Willadsen and Librarian Connie Schuster. Absent: Don Hormel.
    Meeting was called to order by Bernie. Motion was made by Laura, seconded by Nancy to approve the minutes. Carried.
    Treasurer's Report: Bank Balance as of 3/15/13 is $44,257.16; Trust and Agency Balance is $33,394.84; General Fund Balance is $10,862.32.
    Bills to be sent to the City Council were read. A motion was made by Janet and seconded by Tammy to approve. Carried.
    Librarian's Report: Connie reports plans for Summer Reading dates June 5, 12, 19 and 26 are progressing.

Unfinished Business:
1. National Library Week will be April 14-20. Connie will place a story in the Press/News.

New Business:
    1. County FY 13/14 budget appropriation: $11,500.00 has been received from the County. $500.00 more than expected. Thank you Supervisors.
    2. Computers at City Hall: a Council decision will close the computer center at City Hall and the library will have first opportunity for items we can use. Most computers are 8-10 years old. A motion was made by Tammy, seconded by Laura to check into replacing our Gateway with one from the Center and perhaps take a couple chairs, printer. Carried.
    3. Two trustee terms expiring in June: Don Hormel and Janet Kleve. Don has indicated he may not seek another term.
    4. Close Saturday, May 25, for Memorial weekend: Motion was made by Janet to close the 25th, seconded by Tammy. Carried.
    5. Bonnie McKewon presentation May 8th at 4:00: Bonnie, Consultant with Iowa Library Services for our district, will be at our May meeting to help answer questions regarding hiring a Librarian and WILBOR.
