 Unfinished Business:

Jim Dekkenga plans to come next week to install the front door.

We’re still waiting on Denny D. to repair the sewer pipe.  Connie will call and remind him that we’re on the list.

Amy Duis has agreed to become a board member.  The city council will have the new board member approval on their next meeting’s agenda.

Sam Anderson has agreed to do snow removal this winter.  He will be paid $10.00 an hour.

Marlys Claus isn’t sure how often she can volunteer her help.  Diane Truckenmiller will volunteer on Thursdays.

Connie called Jobes and asked for a carpet estimate.  He hasn’t been to the library to do so as of this date.  Discussion was held in regards to purchasing a new copy machine from Davis Typewriter.

We could apply for the Community Foundation Grant to cover its cost.  A motion to apply for a grant of $2,000 to cover costs of a Sharp copy machine for $1,612;  a service contract for $235;  plus ink and copy paper, was made by Nancy.  Don seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

The County Library Meeting will be held at the Ocheyedan library November 6, 2008, at 6:30 p.m.

A Christmas party will be held for the board members, librarians, and volunteers after our next meeting on December 3rd.  Connie will purchase gifts for the assistant librarian, volunteers and cleaning person.  The board will furnish appetizers for the party.

New Business:

A Budget Planning committee consisting of Laurie, Nancy and Connie will meet on November 12th.

Connie will go to the county supervisors with a funding proposal in December.  The amount will be decided upon at the November 6, county meeting.

Next meeting will be Wednesday, December 3, 4:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Bernie Willadsen
