November 4, 2009

The Board of Trustees was called to order at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009, by President Laurie Glade.  Those present were: Nancy, Bernie, Laurie, Linda, Don, Tammy, and Connie.  Absent was Carol.

Minutes from the Sept. meeting were approved by Tammy and seconded by Bernie.  Motion carried.

Nancy reported there is $12,761.75 for bank balance.  Trust and Agency has $19,168.52.  General Fund is $593.23. County check for $5000.00 was received.

Nancy read the bills.  Bernie moved they be approved and seconded by Tammy to be sent to City Council.  Motion carried.

Connie reported there were 14 kids and 2 helpers at the Halloween party.  She will be doing something for Christmas with the kids.  Emily Dorr is not using the Mound room at this time.

Unfinished Business

We will ask for $3500.00 when applying for the Community Foundation grant to help with the new carpet and painting the library.

New Business

The outside light fixture by the front door was looked at.  A grounding strap was repaired.  Eventually a new fixture will be needed.

The old wooden tables in the basement will be donated to the Tracy House Museum.  Motion made by Nancy and seconded by Bernie.  Motion carried.

County meeting will be November 16th at 5:00 p.m. in Sibley.

Linda Kogelmann has replaced Amy Duis as a board member.

Long Range plan was reviewed by the board.  Tammy made a motion to approve and was seconded by Nancy.  Motion carried.

Budget Committee will be Bernie, Nancy, and Connie.

Christmas Open House will be December 10th 3:00–5:00 p.m.  Volunteers, city council members and board members will have a party from 5:00–6:00 p.m.

Connie and Laurie will meet with Jobes again for estimates and carpet samples.  She will also check into insurance coverage while the books are in the trailers.  Carpet layers and painters will have to have to provide a copy of proof of insurance to the city.

Meeting adjourned.  Next meeting will be December 9th.
