The board meeting of trustees of the Ocheyedan Public Library was called to order at 4:30 p.m. on Wed. April 7, 2010.  Those present were Laurie, Tammy, Bernie, Carol, and Connie.
The meeting was called to order by Laurie.  Tammy moved that the minutes be approved.  Bernie seconded.  The motion carried.
The treasurer’s report was given.  Bank Balance: $29,983.60.  Trust and Agency $19,169.52, General Fund $10,814.08.  Connie read the monthly bills.  Tammy made a motion to send them to the city council.  Bernie seconded. Approved.
Librarian’s Report:  We were up 163 books checked out over last year.  So far 36 adult fiction books have been weeded.

Unfinished Business
Carpet project:  We plan to start boxing books the last week in April.  The Spencer Rotary will come and pick up the books that we have weeded.  We will have an ad in the paper concerning the closing of the library and need for volunteers.  Connie will also make posters and place around town.  The Kruger girls will still do some cleaning during the month we are closed.  Monday, May 3rd, May term students will come box books and move the boxes to the trailer.  Then on May 21st the books will be brought back into the library.  All painting and carpet laying should be completed by that time.  We will also paint and paper the bathrooms.  The trim around the front door will be painted also.
The volunteers will receive plants for National Volunteer week April 20th.
The service agreement for the copy machine was signed.
The Summer Reading Program will be July 21, 28, August 4, and 11.

New Business
The Supervisors approved $10,000 appropriation for the library.
We will set out the old computers on April 27th and the garbage personnel will pick them up.
