Bills to be sent to the City Council were read and a motion was made by Don and seconded by Janet to approve.  Carried.

Librarian's Report:  the total number of borrowers remains about the same with four new borrowers. Grant papers for the computers were completed, signed and readied to mail.
First Search (internet agreement, free of charge) signed and readied to mail.

Unfinished Business:
Air conditioner motor has been replaced by Robertson Electric of Harris, IA. Scott has ordered a light for outside the building and the basement ballast has not been replaced.

A proposal was made by contractor Jim Dekkenga to tear out the old cabinets and counter top in the basement kitchen area, install new counter top, cut in new sink, make a new false front on counter top to hide the sink, drill holes at the bottom of the cabinets in storage room for ventilation.  Estimated cost would be $800.00 labor, $310.00 counter top, $150.00 for braces & miscellaneous materials for a total of $1,260.00  Discussion followed with Nancy making a motion to fax the estimate to Hertz Ins. Agency.  Should a second estimate be required we will get one later. If mold is found we will take care of it.  Seconded by Janet and approved.

Sump pump discussion.  Dennis Duitsman, Round Lake, MN, is able to get one which would include a battery backup.  Connie had no quote at this time.

A lengthy discussion regarding options/cost of the basement's meeting room followed.  Shall we replace the carpet?  An estimate was received by Jobes Furniture.  Don had spoken with Wendi Stenrud of Amazing Spaces of Sioux Falls and a floor product called Terra Chip.  A somewhat new product of epoxy and urethane for garage floors, basements.  Wendi would need to examine the basement to determine extent of work to remove old glue, etc.  JCL Solutions (formerly Janitor's Closet) of Spencer, IA has a concentrated product which requires manpower.  Project was tabled until a later date while additional information can be obtained.

Deep Freeze, a better computer security system, was being installed by Diane Truckenmiller.  Connie was unsure if it was completed.

New Business:
Summer Reading program was a big success.  Number of children attending each Wednesday of June were 21 – 24 – 26 and 17.  Connie spent $18.00 (the number of children meeting their reading goal) on ice cream treats from Main Street Market.  Connie thanked all who helped in any way.

Meeting was adjourned.  Date of next month's meeting is August 3rd at 4:30pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Janet Kleve
