Minutes of trustees' meeting

The Ocheyedan Library Board met on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 4:30 p.m.  President Laurie Glade called the meeting to order. Members present were Nancy Faber, Janet Kleve, Don Hormel, Tammy Hoekstra and Librarian Connie Schuster.

Don moved that the minutes of the December meeting be approved.  Seconded by Tammy and motion carried.

Nancy reported the bank balance of $29,320.76:  Trust and Agency $25,251.25 and General Fund $2921.37.  The bills were read by Nancy.  Tammy made a motion that they be approved and sent to the City Council. Nancy seconded the motion and approved.

Connie reported that 9 kids and 2 helpers attended the winter craft day.  There was no Christmas story hour because of bad weather.  Rita Johnson did a full scan and deleted several sites that patrons have loaded on the two new computers as there have been problems.  We will send her a thank you for her time.

Unfinished Business

We are still waiting for the tree out front to be taken down.

Robertson’s are coming to fix the light out front and ballast in the basement.

We are still waiting on word from the County Supervisors meeting concerning next year’s funding.  The supervisors will visit with the county attorney about a contract for funding the county libraries.

New Business

Board vacancy was filled by Janet Kleve.  Thank you, Janet.

Budget proposal will be presented to the City Council on January 10th at 7:30 p.m.

Thank you to Dan DeKoter for the $200 donation to be used for children's services.  The money will be used for summer reading.

Motion was made by Nancy to give NEILSA Consortia permission to file our E-Rate forms.  Seconded by Tammy and approved by all.

Meeting adjourned.  Next meeting will be February 9th at 4:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Tammy Hoekstra
