Minutes of Trustees' meeting

The Ocheyedan Library Board of Trustees met on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 4:30 p.m.

Members present were: Bernie Willadsen, Nancy Faber, Linda Kogelmann, Laurie Glade, Colleen Hemstreet, Lynette Tracy, and Librarian Connie Schuster.  Absent: Janet Kleve.

Meeting was called to order by Bernie.

Motion was made by Laurie, seconded by Linda to approve the minutes.  Carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Bank Balance as of 6/15/13 is $50,855.69;Trust and Agency Balance is $33,394.84; General Fund Balance is $14,993.06.

Bills to be sent to the City Council were read. A motion was made by Lynette and seconded by Linda to approve. Carried.

Librarian’s Report:
1.  TenKley finished replacing the light ballasts.
2.  Thim Bales cleaned up the tree that was damaged in the April ice storm.
3. The sump pumps have been working fine.

Unfinished Business:
1.  Tammy Hoekstra has resigned  her board position.  Lynette Tracy and Colleen Hemstreet will serve on the Board of Trustees.
2.  Henry Eeckhoff gave an estimate for painting the eaves.  The estimate is $828.40 which includes power washing and painting.  Henry will also provide the materials.  He will begin the work when he has the time.

New Business:
1.  New officer have been elected/assigned. They are as follows: President-Nancy Faber; Vice-President-Lynette Tracy;Treasurer-Laurie Glade;Secretary-Janet Kleve.
2.  Summer Reading: There were on average 13 kids per week, this number was smaller than previous years. All kids received an ice cream treat on the last day.
3.  The library will be closed on Saturday, August 10th during Days of Olde.
4.  There are nine applications for the Library Director position. Nancy, Lynette, and Laurie will serve on the interview committee.  The board chose 3 applicants to be interviewed.
